Crashes happen in cycling, but this year's Tour seems to attract more of them.
It's unusual for them to be caused by one of the accompanying cars though. Two riders from the breakaway group get taken out 35 km from the finish. Juan Antonio Flecha gets caught by the car, and then sends Johnny Hoogerland into the air, to land in a barbed wire fence after a couple of somersaults. Hoogerland needed 33 stitches to his buttocks and calve. That's after getting back into the saddle and finishing the stage...
