stuck remote..?

Hi, my NTL remote is stuck the red light stays on continually and it won't change the channels...??any suggestions?

New batteries?

1) Free any buttons that are stuck down.
2) Replace the batteries (dying batteries can cause random malfunctions)
3) Call Customer Services for a replacement remote.

We had this we replaced batterys and appeared to clear it up, but later the fault reappeared.
phoned NTL who sent a replacement, a letter ask to return the faulty one or we would be charged £15, it also said that if NO FAULT FOUND, GENRAL WEAR AND TEAR we would be charged £15, so no being remote experts and were likely to be charged anyhow we decided no to bother. (Not yet been charged 2 months later)
