Hello,
I've had a look around and I can't find anything that specifically deals with my prob. I tried to install a wireless-g card (Linksys WMP54G) on a desktop running XP-Pro yesterday and I could not get it to work. The system would not auto-detect the new hardware and when I tried to install the Linksys software direct from the CD (out of curiosity) the Linksys menu came up fleetingly crashed out - no menu. Anybody here install this card under XP-Pro and get it working. Are there compatibility issues and/or a special approach? Or is it just me? (BTW I know it works on my XP home PCs). Tks.
Tks. I'm waiting for a response from Linksys. And the drivers on their site are dated 2003. But it's the fact that the PC doesn't auto-detect the new hardware that bothers me more? Will keep on trying. Thanks for the input.
Does the BIOS detect the card? Any lights on the card? Have you tried another PCI slot? Look in Device Manager to see if there are any uninstalled devices (Exclamation marks).
