In my search for the best voip solution which allows you to use a normal phone with caller ID I have found this one:-

Equipment costs £40 and your monthly cost is £3 for which you get FREE weekend and evening UK calls and a bloody good mobile call plan unlike skype and sipgate.
Plus calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers are at the proper rate unlike Skype and Sipgate.
This is nice:-
"Calls to UK mobiles are capped at a maximum of £0.20 off-peak, £0.15 weekend for a up to 20 minutes, the normal pence per minute rate then applies. Calls costing less than £0.20 off-peak, £0.15 weekend will be charged as standard. "
Daytime UK landline calls are 2p per min or you can opt for the other price plan of £5 a month (on top of your £3) and get FREE daytime calls.
The only downer is it doesnt do 999 calls.
