Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
The Eden Twitter account has responded to a person who has asked about what's going on with Eden HD on Sky and they basically said they'll look into it. But it could just be the person dealing with the social media accounts hasn't been told.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
Thanks for that, it'll be interesting to obtain something concrete.
Twenty hours ago, on the Sky forum, someone asked why it's closing down, but their post has thus far been ignored.
On 4/10/17 it will be exactly five years since Eden HD was created, so I imagine that Sky have declined to renew the contract.

IT will be sorely missed
I have never watched any program on Eden - too be fair I didn't know it existed, just another channel I have to pay for that I don't want.

Why the hell is Freesports still not on Virgin? Surely it shouldn't take all this time to sort out a deal for a FTA channel.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
I can't find anything related to Eden HD's closure. On the other hand, Eden, Gold and Good Food would all be welcome additions to the growing lineups of Freeview and Freesat.
Please could someone post some links to the forum for me. Thanks in advance.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
Eden is a good channel for programmes on nature and one that I would not like to see go. However, I've not seen anything to date to suggest that it will disappear from our screens other than the absence of programming listed in Sky's EPG.
The Virgin EPG suggests that all is well - full programme information there.

Genuine question what first run content does Eden have I thought it was all shows that had aired on the BBC.

The programming used on the channel is mostly from the BBC archives,

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
I am not surprised at this move. I watched the meet the controllers videos on YouTube from the Edinburgh festival and every time Eden was mentioned in the UKTV one it was dismissed. They even said that original commissions intended for Eden were now going to be shown on W instead. This made me think Edens days maybe numbered.
