Now that VM has a substantial number of HD channels there's less benefit in Sky witholding these channels as the "who's got more HD channels" debate seems to have fizzled out. Offering them in HD via VM may get more Sky Sports subscribers in total.
Technix over th years has been pretty good so I doubt they would of posted without some legs, notwithstanding the usual caveates.

I for one would be extremely delighted, especially as I didnt realise the masters is purely on skysporst 3, too long VM has missed out on Golf in HD as it usually confined to 3 & 4 in coverage and considering the £7 charge given it did seem unfair that only 1& 2 was provided in HD (if you were a sole Skysports subscriber not movies)

I have just got this back from one of my Insiders. (I ask them to confirmed the Sky Sports HD rumour but also ask if any more Sky Basic Channels may launch.)

Luckily on the Saturday at 7.30pm and Sunday at 6.30pm the Masters is on BBC2 HD.

Thanks, MB, but I wouldn't read too much into that. We will get minimal if any notice of any new Sky launches on VM.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014

One thing that might get them more subscribers is to split the channels. Currently you're able to subscribe to Sky Sports 1 and 2 separately, but can only get the others if you take the full bundle.

Sorry Andy but that scenario is very unlikely.

I seem to remember that if you subscribed to SS1, you got SS3 free or if you subscribed to SS2, you got SS4 free on Sky. Is that no longer the case?

It might get a few more subscribers but they would lose more revenue overall. For that reason, I'm out. (Some existing Sky Sports pack subscribers will downgrade to just SS3, SS4 or SSF1. I assume this would be far cheaper than the bundle say £10pm).
