Re: CF: Clickers Corner
I like that, pos the best shot of the morning along with this one.
The birds in flight are a bit kak due to my sloooow Sigma 70-300 and the difficulties it has focusing, tends to hunt a bit

The Squirrels are very good but I like the atmospheric tree shot best of all.
I take loads of tree photos as inspiration for my artwork so I guess I have a soft spot for them.

Re: CF: Clickers Corner
Nice shots there, Alferret. I like the shallow depth of field. Is it worth focussing manually at an appropriate distance ahead of time? Although I guess you can't predict what distance thing will arrive at.

*Nods* and trees tend to stay still while you focus on them. Co-operative little darlings.

Not sure if I've mentioned the D-Town TV video podcast before, it's presented by Scott Kelby & Matt Kloskowski. The first series was for Nikon users only but now it's for all DSLR users. All 35 episodes to date are available here:

Re: CF: Clickers Corner
This might be of use to someone - PANASONIC Lumix DMC-TZ65 Digital Camera for only £149, from Currys, X12 optical zoom, a nice little camera. It's basically a TZ6 with a bigger screen.
Link and instore.
From what I've seen they are very good and going very cheap.
If anyone gets one, go for the 3 year warranty (if you drop it, you'll get a replacement there and then), haggle and you might get it down to about £12. (from £31).

Re: CF: Clickers Corner
Hello!
I went and had a play around with a D3000 today and was recommended to replace the kit lens with a 18-105mm and for my aircraft close ups get a sigma 70-300mm lens.
What do you lot all think? Does this sound good ?
The other option I was looking at was D90 but am not too sure on the price at the moment. Just researching it right now.
Thanks.

Re: CF: Clickers Corner
The D3000 is a fine camera for the price, as is the D90 at its price.
Take a look at these two reviews from Trusted review:
http://www.trustedreviews.com/digita...Digital-SLR/p1
http://www.trustedreviews.com/digita...digital-SLR/p1
I would say the 18mm-105mm is a better buy than the 18mm-55mm kit lens, I have a Sigma 50mm Macro prime lens which is great, what's the price on the Sigma 70-300mm,
the Nikon 70-300 VR II I bought was £450.

Have you seen Gordon's review of the D3000?
