History Acquires UK Rights To ‘Texas Rising’, Sets January Premiere

History has closed a deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to miniseries Texas Rising, TVWise has learned. The ten hour mini, which was originally produced for the US History network, will premiere on History UK on Tuesday January 5th at 10pm.

Texas Rising is set in Texas in 1836. Crushed from the outside by Mexican armadas and attacked from within by ferocious Comanche tribes, no one was safe. But this was a time of bravery, a time to die for what you believed in and a time to stand tall against the cruel rule of the Mexican General Santa Anna. From General Sam Houston, to rag tag Rangers to the legendary “Yellow Rose of Texas” – this is a story of the human spirit rising in the face of insurmountable odds and claiming a piece of history for all eternity.

Looks like old Simpsons episodes on sky one has got rid of them black bars Lao it like the format the do on channel 4

Those weren't actually bars. The old shows were made in 4:3 and when broadcast on a HD channel were always shown in the original aspect. SD channels use to strech them to 16:9. However now it looks like the HD channels are broadcasting them in the channels native ratio.

The Next Series of Don't Tell The Bride Will Air on Sky 1 Next Summer 2016. Sky 1 have Nicked Don't Tell The Bride From The BBC.

5* Acquires UK Rights To ‘Heroes Reborn’, Eyes 2016 Premiere

Channel 5 has closed a deal with NBCUniversal International Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to 13 episode event series Heroes Reborn for their digi-net 5*, TVWise has learned. The series, which is currently airing on NBC in the United States, will premiere on 5* in 2016.


Heroes Reborn picks up one year after a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives.For better or for worse, some are fated to cross paths with assorted heroes of the past, including Hiro Nakamura, Matt Parkman, Mohinder Suresh and the Haitian, among others. Yet, together, their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world and mankind.
