The Humble Tomato

Whilst the Granny brigade advocate that tomatoes cause Gout, the rest of the world`s nutritional experts say that tomatoes are the best health food in existence.

Tomatoes are apparently a miracle food in helping to prevent Prostate Cancer and provide benefit against a whole load of other ailments, plus supplying the body with vitamins for a healthy lifestyle.

So, stuff yourself with tomatoes or gulp down gallons of tomato juice and die of old age.

Re: The Humble Tomato

I hate tomatoes.
I don't mind a little juice with my beans so I can dip my bread and butter in. but give me too much and I have a strop.

I like to dip celery in the juice, provided sufficient vodka, Worcestershire and Tabasco have been added.....

Re: The Humble Tomato

I like thinly sliced tomatoes on tuna sandwiches with lettuce, but I couldn't eat a full one on its own.

I've read that one of the best things to have to eliminate cancer and many more serious illnesses, is cannabis oil.

Re: The Humble Tomato

Canned tomatoes are what you should eat for health benefits. Or properly ripe ones from your garden as I do.

Re: The Humble Tomato

This thread is a timely reminder that I need to plant my tomato seeds. Time to dust off the old heated propagator...

Well......some do, some don't. I get Gout & when I researched it, much to my surprise, I found that there isn't much agreement regarding what you can & can't eat

So much conflicting advice just makes it harder to decide what to eat..I reckon a little bit of what you don't like and a little bit of what you do like should even matters up.In other words eat everything but in the correct proportions..

Excessive booze is front runner in terms of getting gout.
