xp wont bootwith belkin wireless G nic

any advice please..
just bought a belki wireless g nicand installed on winxp home desktop pc as per instructions...installed software, shutdown and instaled nic, then restart.

problem is the pc won restart...and get no POST.
have tried variations on the install and diferent pci slots, and installing without preinstalling the belkin software, hoping for win xp to detect the nic..but get the same results...no POST and a black screen no txt and a flashing cursor???
the pc boots fine withoutthe wireless nic installed, and nothing untoward is showing in the event viewer?

any advice appreciated

Re: xp wont bootwith belkin wireless G nic

It sounds to me like the Wireless NIC is broken, its preventing the PC from Posting, take it back

Re: xp wont bootwith belkin wireless G nic

Uninstall the Belking crap sfotware, install it through device manager, IF you can get it to post with the card in, then direct it to the Belkin disk for drivers... Tis the way i got around it, and its worked ever since.
Good Luck.

If not, RTV.

If it's not passing POST then any OS hacks won't help at all, sounds as though the card's fubared, in all honesty.

You've got s good point actually, just thought, when mine did this it posted ok, then failed to boot at all, i finally did it by actually plugging something when i shouldn't have (not-reccomended)

Take it back
