LANTERN FLOORS MOYGLARE RIVALS.
http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Sun
Quote:
Richard Hannon landed the big prize at the Curragh as Sky Lantern put her rivals to the sword in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes.
The grey, runner-up in the Sweet Solera at Newmarket and the Prestige at Goodwood on her last two starts, travelled in mid-division for Richard Hughes and came to challenge inside the two-furlong pole.
The 7-1 shot produced a very smart turn of foot to put the race to bed and ran on strongly to beat outsider Scintillula by two and a half lengths, with the favourite Harasiya in third spot after holding every chance.
|
ANOTHER FAMOUS VICTORY FOR NAME.
http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Mon
Quote:
Famous Name registered the 20th victory of his now legendary career with a cosy success in the Refuse To Bend Solonaway Stakes at the Curragh
Rousted along to lead a furlong out by Pat Smullen, Dermot Weld's admirable seven-year-old shrugged off One Spirit to score by two and three-quarter lengths, with Aloof in third.
|
UP SURGE LANDS BLANDFORD.
http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Mon
Quote:
Up snatched victory from Caponata in the dying strides of the Irresistible Jewel Blandford Stakes at the Curragh to deny the Dermot Weld team a quick double following the victory of Famous Name.
Manieree made a brave effort to repeat last year's victory in this Group Two contest and led until inside the final furlong, where Caponata ranged menacingly alongside before taking over.

DATE WITH DESTINY NEARS FOR CAMELOT.
http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...2&sub=&day=Tue
Quote:
Aidan O'Brien says it is "so far so good" as Camelot prepares for his date with destiny in Saturday's Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster.
The Montjeu colt will bid to become the first horse since Nijinsky in 1970 to win the Triple Crown of the 2000 Guineas, Derby and Leger and O'Brien admits it will be a nervous week at Ballydoyle.
|
SEQUENCE SET FOR DONCASTER.
http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...2&sub=&day=Tue
Quote:
David Lanigan is hoping for a strong pace to bring out the best in his Ladbrokes St Leger hopeful Main Sequence.
Lanigan's stable star got closes to the Triple Crown-seeking Camelot in the Derby at Epsom before an unlucky run in the Grand Prix de Paris and a second in the Great Voltigeur.
"He did a nice piece of work on Saturday, that was his last strong piece and he will do another easy piece on Wednesday. He's come out of it in good order and seems well. We scoped him last week and he scoped clean, so hopefully we have a nice quiet week and get there in one piece," Lanigan told At The Races.
|
SMART PROSPECTS IN CHAMPAGNE FRAME.
http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...2&sub=&day=Tue
Quote:
Aidan O'Brien is responsible for five of the 15 remaining entries for the One Call Insurance Champagne Stakes at Doncaster on Saturday.
The master of Ballydoyle may saddle Cristoforo Colombo, although he could run in the National Stakes at the Curragh on the same afternoon, while Flying The Flag, Lines Of Battle, Nevis and The Ferryman are also in the mix.

There's not much about today that jumps out, I'm going for centred in 3:50 and would've had intimidate if I'd got up in time...

URSA CONFIRMED FOR DONCASTER.
http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Wed
Quote:
Johnny Murtagh is likely to team up with Ursa Major as he seeks to win the Ladbrokes St Leger for the first time at Doncaster on Saturday.
The jockey is set to get the leg up on the Tommy Carmody-trained colt after connections confirmed plans to go for the world's oldest Classic.

KINGSGATE BACK IN ACTION.
http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Wed
Quote:
Kingsgate Native finally makes his first start for Robert Cowell in the Scarbrough Stakes at Doncaster.
The seven-year-old, who last ran in the Sprint Cup at Haydock last September when he was still with Sir Michael Stoute, was due to make his comeback in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York, but scoped dirty in the days leading up to the Group One.

PATRIOTIC SUCCESS FOR LEGEND KINANE.
http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...e&sub=&day=Thu
Quote:
Mick Kinane took the honours on Patriotic with a narrow win in the Clipper Logistics Leger Legends Classified Stakes at Doncaster.
George Duffield brought Elijah Pepper with a strong challenge in the final half-furlong but Patriotic just held on in a tight finish.

BUICK OPTS FOR THOUGHT WORTHY IN ST LEGER.
http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...home&sub=&day=
Quote:
ATR blogger William Buick has revealed that he will ride Thought Worthy in Saturday's Ladbrokes St Leger.
Bidding for his third consecutive win in the final classic - having partnered Arctic Cosmos and Masked Marvel to victory in the last two years - Buick has opted for the John Gosden-trained Derby fourth and Great Voltigeur winner Thought Worthy over progressive stablemate Michelangelo.

MURTAGH AIMING TO ROCK CUP RIVALS.
http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Thu
Quote:
Johnny Murtagh is expecting Saddler's Rock to put a rare disappointing performance behind him when he defends his crown in the Stobart Doncaster Cup on Friday.
After a pleasing return at Leopardstown, Saddler's Rock was a close third behind Colour Vision in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, but turned the tables on that opponent when landing the Goodwood Cup early last month.
