PAYGO Blackberry 8520 how to setup for Virgin

Merry Xmas to All

I Purchased an unlocked paygo blackberry 8520, used my 30 day sim (with Internet) from virgin. contacted virgin to setup and was told to send a text to them with the word "Yes" received a text to say your mobile now has access to use BB services.

Was also given a lot of setting to set up the phone but the nice Lady @ Virgin, didn't know where the settings were on the phone as their own phones have preloaded apps for the info.

The settings were

Access point Name

APN - goto.virginmobile.uk
Proxy - leave Blank
port - leave Blank
user - user
password - leave Blank
Server - Leave Blank
The above setting I believe are under Options-Advanced settings- TCP/IP is this correct?

setting for MMS
MMSC - http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk/8002
MMS Proxy - 193.030.166.002
MMS Port - 8080
MMS Protocole - WAP2.0
MCC - 234
MNC - 30
Authentication Type - pap
APN Type - mms

settings for internet

MMSC - http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk/8002
MMS Proxy - 193.030.166.002
MMS Port - 8080
MMS Protocole - WAP2.0
MCC - 234
MNC - 30
Authentication Type - pap
APN Type - mms

The MMS & Internet settings I believe are settings in the service books and are attached to the host routing tables, which has no entries. the service books can not be edited (or I can't find how to edit or create a new One).

I may be wrong in the location, so any help would be greatfully received.

Happy NewYear

Smile Re: PAYGO Blackberry 8520 how to setup for Virgin solved

Problem now solved.
Discovered that turning the bb off and on from the red button does not turn the phone off but goes to stand by. so removed the battery & replaced. the phone then began to install all the service books, hosts and apps to enable the phone to receive internet & Email.

to sumerise
get sim contract with internet access
send text to 789333 with the message "Yes"
receive TXT to say your mobile now has access to use BB services.
power the Phone Off & On (To Besure It's Off Remove The Battery)
The wait for all the setting to install.
Then Happy Blackberrying.
