I think to myself that after years of complaints they're finally doing something in my area.
I speak to someone on web chat who denies they were making improvements but said in fact that their was a fault in my area. What on earth was 150 automated message saying they were making improvements instead of just telling me it was a fault! Got my hopes built up there. As well as that my January speed boost has now disappeared off the website and they'll be telling me in December when to expect it! My area which is L10 is absolutely treated disgustingly compared to some areas!
Has anyone else encountered the "lying" 150 automated message?

I had the same on Wednesday, went into My VM to ckeck for any BB problems in my area and the coming soon - next April/July screed had been replaced with "exciting news - phone 150."
So I phoned 150 wondering if my speed boost had materialised earlier than promised. The guy who answered couldn't see any 'exciting news' so put me through to customer services to see of they could help. I did ask if I had been allocated a V box No such luck but was informed that if I paid 3p extra a month and went back onto a contract I could get my speed boost to 200MB early. I pointed out that I still had a SH1 and she revised the amount I would have to pay to include a charge for the delivery of a SH3.
By now I was seeing the funny side of the 'Exciting News' and, as I had some time to spare, I started to tell the rep how this loyal customer of nearly 20 years was seriously considering leaving and that I had no intention of tying myself to VM for yet another year.
I think she was now looking for any way possible to get rid of me because she suddenly had the bright idea of giving me the speed boost for free, sending me a SH3 at no cost to me along with the reassurance that I would not be put under contract.
SH3 arrived last night and fresh from a good nights sleep I swapped the hubs and followed all the instructions. The dang thing wouldn't download the firmware? and 3hours later having been on to a very helpful guy who eventually got me on line I had a connection. Another hour and I managed to get into 192.168.0.1 and check that I had my boost. Success YAY!!!!! maybe at long last I would be able to browse in the evenings when my area becomes horribly over subscribed. Oh I know it doesn't work like that but a person can dream, can't they?
checked my speed and I have attained the giddy heights of just over 9.88mbps down with a 12.26 upload.
I now have an engineer booked for next Thursday.
So Vince, the moral of my tale is beware of promises or people bearing gifts especially if they originate at VM.
