While there is always a spectre of match fixing in any sport we must not think that it is widespread because it is not and l will enjoy my sport whatever sport it is and leave the authorities to catch any untowardness and underhandness if it is going on.

Equatorial Guinea got off their campaign at the 2012 Orange Africa Cup of Nations to a winning start after beating Libya by a lone goal in the tournament opener on Saturday at the Estadio de Bata.
Forward Balboa Osa scored the only goal of the match on 86 minutes to hand the Nzalang Nacional the desired perfect start.

The Ivory Coast made hard work of winning their first game in this year's Africa Cup of Nations, beating Sudan 1-0 on Sunday.
The Elephants dominated the first half but had to wait 39 minutes for Didier Drogba to open the scoring.
Sudan came into the game from that point on, having initially set up to contain their opponents, but Drogba's remained the only goal of the match

Re: African Cup Of Nations 2012
Do all teams stay until the competition is complete or do the teams go home as they are eliminated?
or when translated to Geordie:
When is Ba coming back?

Quote:
Two first-half goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Stephane N'Guema gave Gabon the perfect start to their 2012 African Cup of Nations campaign with a 2-0 victory over Niger in Libreville on Monday.
Gernot Rohr's side were in control of the match from start to finish, and were never in any real danger of conceding against a lacklustre Niger side, who lacked the quality to pose any threat to Didier Ovono's goal.

Goals from Esperance team-mates Khaled Korbi and Youssef Msakni were enough for Tunisia to stave off a Moroccan fight-back at the Angondje stadium in Libreville on Monday in a game that saw tensions raised considerably once Houcine Kharja pulled one back for the Moroccans in the 86th minute.

It was a rough start to the Africa Cup of Nations for Ghana, pegged by many as favourites to win the whole thing, but the Black Stars pulled through against an impressive Botswana side - despite going down to ten men in the second half - and came away with a 1-0 win.

Mali's Eagles joined Ghana at the top of Group D after beating Guinea 1-0 in a tight affair in Franceville.
Bakaye Traore scored the only goal after 30 minutes as his powerful strike from the edge of the area deflected past Guinea goalkeeper Naby Yattara.
Guinea threatened through youngster Alhassane Bangoura, Ibrahima Diallo and Ismael Bangoura but could not find a way past an obdurate defence.
Group D is topped by Mali and Ghana, who beat Botswana - also 1-0 - earlier.

Zambia and Libya played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in horrible conditions on a rain-soaked Bata pitch.
The match was delayed by over an hour, but once underway, Libya were first to adapt to the difficult surface.
Striker Ahmed Saad Osman scored early in each half, with two wonderfully taken goals for the much-improved Libyans.
Emmanuel Mayuka brought Zambia level before brilliantly setting up another equaliser for Christopher Katongo.
The Group A game initially looked like it would be called off, after the match officials inspected the soaked surface.

Co-hosts Equatorial Guinea produced one of the all-time Africa Cup of Nations upsets when reaching the last eight and dumping Senegal out of the finals.
The National Lightning left it incredibly late to earn a 2-1 win over their supposedly illustrious foes.
After Randy opened the scoring in Bata, Senegal were facing elimination until Moussa Sow's 89th-minute equaliser.
But Kily produced a stunning 25-yard drive deep into added time to send a nation into raptures.
|
Quote:
The goal came in the 94th minute to spark frenzy among the 40,000 fans inside the Estadio de Bata, yet there was still time for Equatorial Guinea centre-back Laurence Doe to be sent off.
When the final whistle did evenutally blow three minutes later, Equatoguineans across the world were in dreamland while any watching neutrals were probably left similarly open-mouthed.
The result means Newcastle strikers Demba Ba and Pa**** Demba Cisse will be back in Premier League action earlier than expected
|
Well at least Jameseh and Adzil will be happy.

Sudan earned their first Africa Cup of Nations point in 36 years when drawing 2-2 with Angola in Malabo.
The southern Africans took control after four minutes as Manucho pounced on a defensive error to drill home.
That left Sudan needing their first finals goal since 1976 and it duly arrived when Mohamed Ahmed Bashir headed home after the half-hour.
After Manucho converted a spot-kick for his second, Bashir struck late on to earn a deserved draw for the Sudanese.
