The trouble with that name change is there is not much of a summer to get excited about.

Is this the first time that a major(ish) HD channel (which I believe that Sky partly own) has closed down?

I'm very surprised at this, as Sky seem more interested in playing the numbers game with HD channels, rather than their individual popularity. As I believe that HD will be the norm for all channels in the future, perhaps this casts doubt on the long term future of Bio SD??

It might also suggest that Sky would rather close down an unprofitable HD channel, than try and make it profitable by letting VM have it to increase ad revenue and subscription costs.

Talk about cutting your nose to spite your face!

Well Richard nothing surprises me about Sky but then again others will sing its praises loudly.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2012) Vol. 2.

It does baffle me that people need to be reminded to watch live sport, but that's another issue. This update had nothing to do with cost or taking resources away from other development, it's about removing a barrier to TiVo for customers who so far haven't upgraded, because in the long term, Virgin want everybody on the new system.

A self-selecting group of less than a couple of hundred people does not mean that it is wanted by the majority of customers.

If all tuners are in use (excluding suggestions) then it would have to stop recording something which kinda defeats the purpose

l think you will find a clear majority wanted reminders and a minority did not Carl.
