Which means you're not dead otherwise you'd be dressed in rags, sandals and herding goats. Biblical heaven.

Re: The world ends tomorrow!!
Thing is, if they want to study the Bible to the point where they feel prepared for the End of days then they ought to have read where it says no-one (not even Jesus) knows when it will happen.

Re: The world ends tomorrow!!
I'm sure Jesus's dad has told him since that was written.
it's very clever though. not giving a definate date. otherwise the Bible would have been debunked long before it already has.

I think you're confusing the Bible with the Koran.
As far as I'm aware the vast majority of Christians most definitely do not take the Bible literally or consider the entire thing the infalliable word of God. Even the Bible doesn't consider itself in its entirety to be the word of God, there are passages that explicitly state they are not the word of God, but that of the author.
This in no way diminishes Christianity. Quite the opposite I would suggest.
As a case in point both the Pope and the Archbishop of Canterbury apparently believe in evolution and are fine with post-Big Bang cosmology. Takes a fair amount of 'interpretation' to reconcile a literal reading of Genesis with evolution and cosmology.
The Koran in the eyes of many of its adherents, however....

Even if the date given was, say, 10,000 CE?
I'm big on science and evidence but not sure we could debunk the Bible based on something not due to happen for several millennia. There are a whole bunch of ways we could be extinguished between now and then.

Re: The world ends tomorrow!!
Plenty of us see Creationism and Evolution working together. People only tend to listen to the ones who disagree with the notion...

Not the Young Earth variety that comes from a literal interpretation of Genesis, et al, though.
I was pretty clear on what I was referring to.

I went to some pains to ensure the clarity.
