Re: Changing power levels

That data is very good for 400m from the street cabinet. The downstream SNR is excellent (and that really matters). The upstream power (if stable) is consistent with the distance from cabinet.

The small variances are likely to be temperature related.

Is performance OK?

Is the Tivo return power now similar to the modem?

Re: Changing power levels

[QUOTE=borrissey;35414799]Guy next door said he's had some break up on the HD channels when I spoke to him the other day, he hadn't reported it.

TiVo box upstairs up from 48.

TiVO box downstairs up from 44.

Sorry these are the pics I posted from last night, with the Mac etc taken out.

The TiVo box upstairs is the same as the SuperHub 49. They are both upstairs and run of the same splitter in the attic. I've got TiVo downstairs and V HD box. Then upstairs I've got TiVo and SuperHub.

TiVo downstairs is currently 44 and V HD box is 41.

Yeah they would be good levels if they stayed the same, stable.

Nope getting break up on HD channels and the odd disconnect of internet with wired and wireless connections.

Re: Changing power levels

So that's got to be electrical misbehaviour at the street cabinet amplifier if it's affaceting your neighbour too.

That should be routine for VM to sort out. LOL.

Re: Changing power levels

Had this email today:

Hi Neil

I'm sorry for the late reply, I was waiting for the Area Field Manager to get back to me. He has now confirmed that a repull of the cable is taking place today and then his Senior Technician will be in touch to resolve any outstanding issues.

Regards Jan.

What's that all about then?

They are replacing the cable from the cabinet to your house, to see if that fixes your problem.

Just walked past the guy doing the re pull on my way to town. He said he's putting in thicker cable than old one. Was putting the wire in a hole in the ground in my avenue, just up from my cab. I didn't get disconnected Craig

Re: Changing power levels

How can you not get disconnected, he is replacing the cable (i.e. unplugging the old one and connecting you to the new one) there has to be a disconnect at some point!

Nice one Virgin not phoning ahead when you connected up my house with new cable like they said they would. So they could check my power levels etc.

I was out when they came.

TiVo box downstairs is 52 and TiVo upstairs is 56.

Re: Changing power levels

Took ages to get onto superHub was really slow, had to try a few times.

I'll post them in an hours time also.

I'm not a big fan of the re pull to my house though, they've left old wire there and just attached new one with cable ties to trunking, i'ts out in the open not behind the trunking. Then on my outside wall they've just put the new trunking next to old trunking and left old there.
