TuneIn app would be great, best 69p I have ever spent on the old ipod

Here's some examples

Sky+ gave the cable co's the incentive to launch the 3 tuner TV Drive

Cables OD service forced Sky to launch Anytime+

Sky+ app (remote record) resulted in VM TIVO adding this feature

VM TIVO undelete feature resulted in Sky adding this feature to new EPG

VM & BT Vision catchup has resulted in Sky announcing a catchup service (rumoured for September)

Sky Go has pushed VM to announce TV Anywhere

Netflix HD streaming has resulted in Lovefilm introducing HD streaming

Netflix arrival has meant competition for Lovefilm and the introduction of Sky's Now TV.

Basically my point is competition is good for us the consumers.
Very good points, very well made!

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2012) Vol. 3.

Funnily enough,I was thinking yesterday how good it would be if 'Tune In' was on Tivo. I was also thinking how cool it would be if 'Flixter' and 'Shoutcast' was on there as well.

Tune In is by far the best app on my phone-would be a great addition, but I reckon there'd be the ubiquitous rights issues.

Its on Roku and WDTV Live, no real reason why being on a cable box should create difficulties.

Being on a pay TV providers STB is very different , the commercial terms have to be right for both parties , VM advertise Music On Demand as a reason to upgrade to XL to get all your music videos included , surely apps like Muzu and Vevo would negate the need to upgrade to XL as both apps offer music videos On Demand.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2012) Vol. 3.

Noticed that my total channels has risen from 406 - 412 (not inc the Paralympics).

Adds weight to the rumours perhaps of new channels.... time will tell.

Virgin has not remove the 48 BBC branded channels from the total channels numbers.

MB, I'm guessing from your list that Sky are rebranding Sky2 to Sky1 +1 instead of launching other channel?

I have no idea on what Sky are doing.

I think Sky2 is safe - maybe Sky Living it +1 will get the axe on September 23rd to make way for SA +1 to launch on Astra UK.

It's funny you should mention that.

In the recent deal with Talk Talk SKY 2 was not included.

http://corporate.sky.com/media/press...f_sky_channels

Also in the recent enhanced deal with UPC, SKY 2 which was missing from their previous agreement was not added.

http://corporate.sky.com/media/press..._upc_agreement

That to me suggests either Talk Talk and and UPC are not interested in SKY 2, or SKY 2 doesn't have too much long left. You'll also notice SKY Living it was not part of the Talk Talk deal either.

Well I do not what may happen but I was told last Thursday that 'Talks are ongoing'' with Sky and Virgin Media.

They don't have enough shows for that many channels. Probably why they're commissioning everything under the sun at the minute.
