Thank god for that, two consecutive posts that are not about Arsenal. I was about to suggest a change of thread name.

Theres money to spend at Arsenal but Wenger isn't spending it. How can you possibly have a bloated wage bill and accuse the Arsenal board of not handing over funds to Wenger. It doesn't make sense. It doesn't add up. I don't agree with what you're saying.

You don't have to.
I just personally don't believe that the reason Arsenal are not spending is because Wenger is stubborn.
And Personally, I think those running the club would be happy for Wenger to continue taking any flack and they don't get it then.
For the record, I am certain that the majority of Arsenal fans are behind Wenger.

Wrong. The board are under growing pressure. The Arsenal Supporters Trust have called in third party to get reports done looking into the boardroom at Arsenal. That is such a significant step thats been taken by a group that feared being kicked out or ousted of communication, they said sod all a couple of years ago. added to that the more vocal leaders of the group calling for answers to key questions.
A lot of fans back Wenger, myself included but this current regime needs changing. he needs to spend, all fans agree on that. if theres no spend and the decline continues then fans, myself included want change. Arsenal has a 150m wage bill to date. Utds wage bill isnt much bigger than Arsenals and look whats happening there. Arsenal have missed David Dein big time. we haven't won anything since Dein left. Dein + Wenger = Success. Gill + Fergie = Success. all of this has been spoken of already countless times on here. read the previous footy thread. its just not right to just blame 1 aspect, theres a lot at fault if you look deep into it. bottom line though is Arsenal has money to spend and I'm confident it will be spent. we'll have to wait and see whos right.. bring on the transfer rumours or every pipe dream

You've had players like Arshavin on the books down the years who hardly played. Didn't he cost like £8m too?
Rosicky, is he worth it if he only plays at end of season?
Gervinho does ok sometimes but not really good enough and doesn't play much either.
Is it time to give up on diaby?
And I never understood why they signed that full back, from Malaga, forgot his, ah... Monreal, when you have gibbs, ok he was injured, but why commit? why not get a stop gap?
I agree arsenal need to spend. I loved watching Ljungberg, Pires, Vieira and Henry.
Vieira by the way, being touted as future City manager. Great guy. Loads of Arsenal fans hate him not being at Arsenal.

You hit the nail on the head...the players being bought are not good enough, when you compare them to players in the past.
And other players..see the lack of ambition, and don't want to come (10 years ago, that type of player might have)

Arshavin, 8m? where did you get that from. Hes Arsenal record signing 15-20m
Rosicky has proven to be very useful. on the whole I don't know but as expereince, extra legs yeah. finding out his wage has been a problem.
You going through the whole squad. we all know whos good enougha nd who isnt but thats another issue in itslef.
Nachoman was signed becasue Santos sucks, we'd have a better chance playing a corpse at left back than him. Gibbs got injured. Tommy was out. the injuries were mounting up quick, Arsenal had no choice but to move early. plus the Nachoman transfer was going to happen in the summer anyway, it was moved forward to January.
No Arsenal fan Ive seen hates Paddy as a man for being at City but they do dislike the fact he isnt at Arsenal.

If you sat and looked at all the stories, you would find most are made up.
There was an article written by an english paper (speculation about whomever, I forget), that was picked up by the spanish papers quoting english newspaper, which was then picked up again by the english papers quoting spanish news sources.
You could not make it up (oh, if it is a football story, of course you can make it up, boom boom )

Yes really, falcao staying put then is he? There are so many people claiming to be players representatives demanding a slice of the action that have press contacts for a simple example, they put stories out, so do clubs wanting rid of someone, I doubt very much they even have to consider making stuff up.

But Falcao is a perfect example. He has been linked to a move away for years based on this talents and the team he plays for. It was bound to happen eventually.

I was guessing with Arshavin, even worse then. Broke golden rule: never sign a player off back of a good tournament if shown nothing before.
I know they had to get someone in instead of santos (why sign him in that strange rush of signings at end of summer window 2011) but did they need him on permanent deal?
I meant they hate him being at City not him. He's a legend at Arsenal. And also did well in 18 months at City too, helping us in the FA Cup win as he played most of the games in that run.

Chelsea forever linked with him after his 4 goals against them.
I would believe that Chelsea enquired after him like all top players, clubs who have finances are all interested. Especially as Chelsea are light up front.

No..my point is that falcao has been going everywhere...depending on what paper wants to make up a headline
Pure speculation by papers without foundation
And my point was..in any other type of news story..it would not be allowed...but for football..they just use it to sell papers...what would make a good headline

actually Arshavin proved to be a good investment at the time, he kicked us on to get CL. then it was incredibly hit and miss to a state of uselessness
I dont know why Santos was chosen. the guys a fool.
'Apparently' Paddy hasn't always been on best terms with Arsenals officials. To me its because he has a loud mouth. That conflicts with Wengers dictatorship, his way of running things etc. the AST have had it confirmed by 'leaks' that Arsene runs the show at Arsenal who is now joined by incompetent Ivan.
