Angry Problems connecting Bosch Easy Control to Wifi Hub

Hi,

Since yesterday a firmware update from Virgin Media to my hub has knocked out my wifi connection so my Bosch Easy control panel will not connect.

I've spoken to Bosch and Virgin, Bosch said I need to be on the 2.4ghz.
Virgin confirmed I was and even split the 2.4 and 5ghz channels.
Rebooted my hub I have seen the 2.4ghz selection on my easy control panel but it still will not connect.
Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it and if so how.

Please help my heatings off......

Re: Problems connecting Bosch Easy Control to Wifi Hub

I didn't have the problem because our hub was placed next to the router so connected by ethernet but doesn't solve your issue.
An issue that can arise is if devices can't use the latest WPA encryption. Can you dial this down? Advanced settings -> Wireless -> Security -> WPA2-PSK
(Some devices don't even do this limited to older, unsupported TKIP)

Channel width can throw some devices.
Advanced settings -> Wireless -> Wireless signal
Turn off optimimization (sorry) Manually set the 2.4GHz to other values (I can't play with these ATM.) and see if any thing will allow connection. Wireless mode to allow older 11b devices, channel width.

Re: Problems connecting Bosch Easy Control to Wifi Hub

I have looked at my security setting and it's set at WPA2-PSK already.

Tried turning off the optimisation and selecting a different range but all this did was loose connection with my laptop and not help with the Bosch easy control device.
I know speaking with Bosch that there have been other people with VM routers affected if anyone has please advise what you did not get it back online.

Try switching off the 5Ghz band as a temp measure. You might be able to get the Bosch working at this point. If it works, re-enable the 5Ghz.
What Hub do you have btw, just wondering if it's the Hub 5 as the newer wifi 6 can cause issues with older IoT.
