BBC1 HD regional programs?

Does any one know when the BBC will be able to transmit their regional programs on their HD channel? It's a pain having to keep switching to the SD channel when the local news is on.

Don't think it's going to be anytime soon.

More BBC HD Channels are set to launch soon.

BBC One HD Scotland
BBC One HD N. Ireland
BBC One HD Wales

Viewers in England will have the BBC One HD that broadcasts right now.

BBC HD will become BBC Two HD.

I've asked this before, seems ITV can do regional on their HD channel but the good old beeb can't, maybe they are to busy paying for all the staff to move to Manchester..
By the way is IV regional output on ITV1HD hd or sd?

ITV do it primarily so they can sell regional advertising. It makes commercial sense for them. It doesn't for the BBC.

Our road in Luton show's London news on cable (always has done) and I bet over half of the rest of the town gets Anglia news

Re: BBC1 HD regional programs?

ITV1 HD has 4 regional variants in England & Wales. London, Central, Meridian & Granada.

The Luton headend should carry two additional feeds for BBC East on 858, and Anglia on either 870 or 871.

Re: BBC1 HD regional programs?

I would not want to see Look North in HD. It's grim enough already.

I'm pretty sure I can't get my local (Yorkshire) shows on ITV1HD. They're all TyneTees. (I will double-check this though!)

Interestingly, and for nothing, but whilst my parent's get Tyne Tees on their standard FV ITV1, they get Yorkshire on the +1.

So the BBC aren't the only ones who can't do regional HD yet. And it's nothing to do with their forced move to Manchester
