And there are still lots of people without connected TV's or games consoles.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV (2012) Vol. 1

Media Boy update:

At 11pm tonight we are saying goodbye to Diva TV on Virgin Channel 164.

After 11pm I am getting no listings for Diva TV (on my V+ Box) so I think NBC Universal will close Diva TV then.

Q: WILL NBC UNIVERSAL GIVE US UNIVERSAL HD OR STYLE NETWORK TO MAKE UP FOR DIVA TV CLOSING?
A: My Insiders has not told me of any new channel launching on Virgin Media from NBC Universal to make up the numbers for Diva TV being axe.

I appreciate that DF as would I ,but its only an Hdmi cable. I was merely saying that NetFlix might not want to pay VM to go on TiVo .

Unless you have a HTPC hooked up to your TV

Finding films to stream on Lovefilm, is way quicker on a PC than on connected devices such as my Sony BR player.

There would be an advantage to me of Netflix being on Tivo though, as for some reason, netflix via a PC doesn't have 5.1 audio. Lovefilm doesn't have 5.1 audio at all, or HD for that matter; Lovefilm need to get their act together on these two issues.

After publicly stating their desire for an app Virgin are in a pretty poor negotiating position, especially with a company who have the results of the inclusion of the same app on the same Tivo platform in the US to guide their decision making. If Virgin, having said they want it, having told their customers they're trying to get it, and having failed to deliver the hundreds of apps they felt sure they could, think they could even consider charging netflix I'd be staggered, but I agree, in those circumstances I'm not sure netflix would bother.

This could be a reason why they have not been able to deliver many apps so far.

Which tends to suggest to me that they are well into negotiations, though could be wrong.

The Netflix boss, in interviews on launch day was keen to say (boast?) that Netflix was on more devices than Lovefilm, so I think he will be keen for it to go on Tivo.

l just think there is a lot more involved in bringing apps to the Tivo then people think there is as its not like going from A to B and thats it but there is l suspect far more detail involved then meets the eye before we get them.
