Re: TV price rises

Your right Ben. Would be £7 increase extra £2 TiVo price gone up then extra 5 sobs for new per box charge. Question is that per box charge for new customers only?

Also sort it out VM!

Get your Sky channels in HD
Watch your Sky channels in crystal clear HD. This is only available with a Sky channel pack above. Sky Sports 3 & 4, Sky Premier +1, Sky Movies Classics and Disney Cinemagic are not available in HD.

Re: TV price rises

WOW another price increase then.

I think the TiVo monthly charge shouldn't apply for people with XL TV to push the TiVo box.

Only problem is that part of the fee goes to TiVo. The only way Virgin Media could stop the customer being charged is if they reduced their prices.

Re: TV price rises

You do wonder if in their negotiations with Tivo, Virgin were aware all along that the sub would be going up by 40% a relatively short time after launch.

Well only they will know and they are not going to tell us one suspects.

I may be wrong, but I thought I read that VM pay Tivo £3 per box, so that making it £5 gives VM a bit of profit on each box.

I got both my Tivos from the getgo when they first launched last april, so only pay £3 all in. Hope they don't change that!

Re: TV price rises

Why, why is there so many problems from VM and Sky customers over pricing.

As said before l have both systems, and am quite prepared to pay Sky prices, for the simple reason is that they give you so many channels, that's it worth the price.

With VM, they have put the prices up without any additional channels and quite rightly, customers are angry, VM is supposed to be the cheap version of TV, you cannot justify an increase without additional products.

With Tivo for example, they place a £3.00 charge and this goes up to £5.00 in April, they have brought out a new version of Tivo when they have teething problems on the first one.

VM have got to give value for money on Tv and BB, and at the moment they are not. People may say that l whinge, but if you cannot increase prices without giving something in return.

How is VM the cheap version of pay tv? They are offering an alternative to people that do not wish to have every single free channel.

Re: TV price rises

Answer this one then, there are customers crying out for certain channels, and VM will not give them.

I say 'cheap version of tv' is that becuase they are cheaper than Sky, and give less channels for what you pay.

The answer is simple. VM clearly display their list of channels before purchase so it is surprising people complain about these channels that VM never claimed to provide.

Another rant , why not cancel then if your not happy. You are also wrong about VM being cheaper my package with Sky is cheaper than the equivalent one from VM , for some VM will be cheaper for others it will be Sky , both companies offer different products it's upto the end user too choose which best suits them.
