Re: Football : Season 08/09
Arthur, you, use, far, too, many, commas, in, one, sentence.
Sorry, rant over.
I personally think United will will the league this season, they have been too good. Arthur is right in saying United get away with a hell of a lot more on the field than other clubs do. Hell, even off the field...Sir Alex can call the referees and the head ref what he wants and nothing is done about it. Wenger has a go at one referee, and he gets fined.
Gomez, he's a hell of a goal keeper. Who knows how many mistakes he's made, I'm sure if anyone was once keeping a count, it's been lost!
I'm a Liverpool fan, but I don't we're good enough at the moment to get near to United.
If Arsenal don't get any inhuries for next season, I'd like to see what they can do.

Remind me, who is the only manager this season to get a touchline ban?

That doesn't compensate for the amount he gets away with.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
Hi Chill, I think if the FA cracked down on Sir Alex, he would do the usual, do a rant Soho Square would shake, Utd would pull out of the FA cup, then the Premier League would have to get a new ' sub board' that doesn't go over 5 minutes added time, get Rooney a new dummy, and Ronaldo a new diving board,.

Like how Benitez got away with all the false claims he made against Ferguson in his rant that's ****ed your season up?? I know people like to believe that Ferguson is the only manager that talks about referee's and get's away with things but it happens with all managers, people take more notice when they are actually successful though

I don't think Ferguson is the only manager who rants.
He just does it a hell of a lot more than other managers.

He's got every right to when he gets unfairly accused of preferential treatment.

But all Benitez said were "facts", so it's ok for him to do it...

Re: Football : Season 08/09
Cheating Manu Utd 2, Blackburn I, where did the five minutes come from and Ronaldo should have been sent off, He gets booked for diving, and then again he dives, and gets the goal from the free kick, Howard Webb needs to to back to ref school.
I think the Carling Cup should handed to cheating Man Utd now, if they play and get away with things, as in todays game, I think Tottenham should stay at home, they won't win, if the ref allows United to get away with it.

From your rant i take it you didn't watch the match?
It was 4 minutes injury time not 5, of which none were needed for the so called cheating team to win. If we were cheating as you suggest, it would have been no injury time.
Ronaldo didn't dive for the free kick and you can't say he *should* have been sent off. If he got booked earlier he wouldn't dive
Now i'm sure you'll tell me what was wrong with Evans' goal won't you? After all, we can't foul anyone can we?

Maybe a mod should change the title of the thread to "The i hate Man United thread" or "Arthurs pointless rants thread"
If you think Ronaldo dived to get the free kick that he scored from then i would advise you get your eyes tested, for one it was the most obvious foul ever and two it was Evra who got fouled not Ronaldo, but that doesn't matter to you does it. Ronaldo got booked for diving earlier in the game and rightly so, so i cannot see what your moaning about. 5 minutes?? I have absoloutley no idea what that means??? There was 4 minutes of added on time at the end of the match if thats what your talking about? I would have much rather had seen 1 minute come up on the board, i have no idea how that much added time going up makes United "cheat's". I like the fact you have overlooked that United had a perfectly legitimate goal ruled out though...
You have an obsession with United arthur, you need to see someone about it.

2-1? How did five mins of play (was 4m 40s - should have been 4 and I have no idea where that came from) benefit us? Come on.
Webb gives a corner, should have been a goal kick/free-kick, we score and he disallows it.
He books Ronaldo for diving (Based on Setanta, he is the only player that has ever done it, it comes with the territory if you are Brazillian) doesn't book Pedersen for diving.
Three games from Webb, we lost two and then that. Bet he had his Liverpool shirt on the second he got into the dressing room.

Can't disagree with that, no one ever gets sent of for getting 2 yellows

You're assuming he would have dived if he was on a yellow card, which i doubt he would...
