Programs that want you to by default add crap that you don't want.
As in toolbars in IE.
So you can easily add them in error.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 7
My pet hate at the moment is discovering that the tech savvy one of the family (moi) has made an ar$e of a recording he wanted for himself.
Just settled down, kids in bed, beer in hand ... my shows..only to discover... I'd recorded the last 5 minutes of the program before the one I'd been looking forward to.
.....at least I got the beer temperature right
...and no, it's not on catch up
...it will be repeated though

Oh dilli I am so sorry to hear this latest development.
Sometimes I do wonder if our bodies will ever cease to keep finding ways to make our lives more complicated. I was lucky that the problem with mine (EPO related) was caught ultra early, treatable and touch wood seems to be controlled.

Sorry to hear that, what type is it? I have PKD, and things are starting to cause a few complications. Not a nice thing as you can't do anything about it.

Wow, sorry about that. I've got kidney trouble as well, chronic kidney disease, stage 2. Which is why diet has been changed to try and get kidney damage reversed before it gets worse.

It was picked up during diabetic stuff - I go to the Diabetic nephropathy clinic now.
I am off to see the kidney specialist next week.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 7
Dilli, sorry to hear that.
Anyway, my moan is more a minor irritant.
Found out from TFL just how badly disrupted my work routine is going to be by the olympics..
Put it this way, for pretty much every day during the olympics, one of the stations I have to go to is going to be far busier than normal (and normally it apparently handles more passengers than it was designed for). The station I normally get off at is going to be closed during to the day for the first week, and the only other station I can get off at is going to have a strictly enforced one way system for pedestrians that will increase the already long (around 15 minutes) walk between it and where I work.
I say where I work, but TBH, with the official route to get to the Olympics going within ten metres of our building, there will probably be a lot of occasions where I cannot get in the building. Even if there isn't, I will probably have to walk around the campus and go in the back entrance to avoid the crowd. This adds another 5 minutes to the journey.
It's likely that on occasions the Olympics is going to add over half and hour to my journey to and from work, and the already overcrowded trains and stations I have to deal with are likely to be more heavily overcrowded.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 7
Mine is the Community Diabtes Support team today. Saw a nurse on May 31, and she wanted to see me tomorrow at 2pm, get a call a week later saying she had double booked me could she see me today instead at 2pm. I call back, say yes that is fine.
Get there today, and 'oh her clinic has been cancelled, did no-one call you'? To which I answered in my head 'well yes I did get the call but thought I would come and waste my time anyway'. So I waited for another half an hour before the other nurse saw me. Then wants to change all my medication and what had been agreed with the other community nurse. So now I am back to square 1, and have to essentially starve myself for 24 hours as I have to go carb free. Well as pretty much every food has carbs in, then I'm screwed.
Feel like screaming at the top of my lungs. I would do, if I wasn't full of cold as well.

What !!!! no carbs at all? Guess it will have to be a juicy Sirloin Steak then.
I guess this will be the only time you are ever given permission to go carb free by anyone in your Diabetes Team. Hope your cold gets better soon.
