Sky dont own all HD channels you know - so nothing is stopping VM getting these non Sky HD channels.
You can not expect VM to release 30-40 HD channels all in one go - how long has it taken Sky to get were it is.
I'm 100% that VM will not stop at 30 HD channels if Sky say 50 by Xmas then I'm going to say 40+ for VM.

I can think of Luxe.tv HD, MGM HD, Rush HD that I dont really care if we get or not but if these channels are important to people then email VM asking for the channels.
Sky Sports 3/4 HD - Sky Movies Classics HD we know were not going to get anytime soon.
Sky Box Office 1/2 HD we wont get but we have film flex HD.
There is 8 channels that we may never get but I really dont care much about these - its the rest I believe VM should be going to get and have no doubt they are trying.

It does annoy me that SKY customers gets live PPV events in HD but VM pay the same price but only get SD broadcasts.
In a perfect world VM would have HD live events channel next to the SD channel 0 and SKY would give VM the live HD broadcasts. I wish SKY realised we love their programming but not everybody wants an ugly satellite dish bolted on the side of the house
Sorry Rant over

I know its not like Sky dont get the money from Virgin for their channels, by having their channels on Virgin Media they are making more money than not having them on other platforms.

What I would like to see, and surely can't be too hard would for the system to automatically goto the HD channel rather than the SD.
Maybe the TiVo boxes will do this....

True, but I don't think it's a technology problem more like getting additional HD content out of SKY kind of problem

Hope you're right, I've been wondering why I haven't seen the infamous Sky 'Pizza' advert for a good few days, the only Sky adverts in the press I've seen recently are the ones comparing their package to BT (the penalty spot one especially).
I'd be amazed if true though, cos almost all of Sky's advertising for SSNHD has been saying "Launching 23rd August only on Sky.
Maybe we'll get it on 24th August.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010) Vol. III
Perhaps we'll get Sky Sports News HD in September with Sky 1 HD etc?
