You know, that might work, we will give you exclusive access to our broadband and you give you the rights to all your current (and future) rights to all your channels!

To be honest even though I suggested it I wouldn't want it to happen. Well actually I guess it would depend how fast the SKy connection could get off the virginnetwork. Sky's backbone is its strength but the bouncing around VM's network would cause an issue.

The only benefit to sky would be access to the VM CABS so I have no idea how sky would get out the cab and off VMs network

Give it a rest Alan!!!

It's because Sky own the channels, so they can sell them at high prices to make a big profit. And so that the competition can't compete on price for their TV service.

Sky can't compete with VM on BB, because VM have the better network, and would charge Sky high prices to use it. And VM can't compete with Sky on TV packages because Sky have the channels, and charge VM high prices to use them.

It's business, not politics Alan!!!

Yes, they own the channels (with VM's help), but Virgin and Sky should do a deal that would benift both sides!

Remember Murdoch did not get where he is now, without getting involved in politcs!

That isn't very likely is it? They are both trying to push into each others markets. If they both gave exactly the same service then the only competition would be price and customer service. This may be good for the consumer, but wouldn't make good business sense, because price wars lead to companies going bust.

And as soon as that happens, the surviving company has a monopoly, so they can charge what they want, and give poor service....is that what you want Alan?

True but then media and politics of all creeds go hand in hand now. That will never change now.
