BBC One has announced that it is remaking The Good Life, Are You Being Served? and other classic sitcoms.

New versions of Up Pompeii! and Keeping Up Appearances have also been ordered, with each show at a different stage of development, Broadcast reports.

The series of 30-minute specials will mark 60 years since Hancock's Half Hour became the first sitcom on British TV.
Seems that its just some specials. Don't see why they don't just show some classic episodes. IMO they do not need remade. They were products of their time and would not feel right being remade!

Just look at the new open all hours. That was god awful!

Look at the plot of new Porridge!

Quote:
They become the most recent classic shows to be revisited by the BBC after the broadcaster announced it was remaking Ronnie Barker's Porridge.

It was previously reported that the series will be brought back with a BBC pilot centred around Norman Fletcher's (Barker) grandson, who will be serving time for computer hacking.
Yawn!!

Totally agree, there is no way they make anything as good as the originals.

Re: Virgin TV (What's on soon)

I am hoping that this will be good. I loved cold feet. Seeing where the characters are now could be interesting.

Quote:
Fans of Cold Feet rejoice!

The ITV show will begin filming in Manchester for its new sixth series in February 2016.

Cold Feet previously ran for five series from 1997, with the main characters made up of couples Adam and Rachel (James Nesbitt and Helen Baxendale), Pete and Jenny (John Thomson and Fay Ripley), and Karen and David (Hermione Norris and Robert Bathurst).
The new series will be eight episodes long and feature all of the above actors bar Baxendale (RIP Rachel).

Further casting will be announced later.

It's official: ITV has confirmed it has picked up The Voice UK and The Voice Kids in a big new deal.

The channel has also ordered an ITV2 spinoff show, with everything kicking off in 2017.
ITV - which beat off the BBC to win the series in a huge bidding war - confirmed today that it has picked up three series of the main show and two series of the children's version.

But ITV's director of television Peter Fincham hinted that it might not necessarily be the end of The X Factor.
