Re: why did u choose Virgin Media?

I live in a flat and to have sky installed I would have needed a BT line. As the BT line wasn't active at my address and the then NTL line was I but my eggs in one basket and ordered TV, telephone and broadband from NTL.

I have thought about going over to Sky recently as VM are bumping up their prices but the wife is very happy with what VM offer in our package. We have VIP50 with TiVo and the on demand stuff is what we all enjoy the most in our family. Even the kids demand, on demand movies and they're 3 and 5 years of age.

Same here.

VM had the fastest BB, which helps when running two internet businesses. And they were also the only company who would supply 3 phone lines.

Until recently I had the TV in my living room with Sky. So I decided to play the different suppliers off against each other. So when I called VM, they made a few changes to my account, and saved me over £80 per month when I changed to the Tivo.

When Sky asked why I was leaving them, I explained, and they didn't even attempt to match the package.

Re: why did u choose Virgin Media?

Liked the idea of having cable again. Have the service back in the 1970s` Rediffusion as I recall

Re: why did u choose Virgin Media?

I've always had cable; since 1998. Not sure why I picked them over Sky in the first place* but I'm glad I did. (* Probably something to do with just having the one bill for everything.)

Re: why did u choose Virgin Media?

Had Sky analogue before cable came and it was rubbish, so had cable as soon as it was available. Not got line of sight for satellite at my present address, so cable is the only real option.

Re: why did u choose Virgin Media?

They offered me an alternative to the shoddy BT offering in my area and I would not change, see my speedtest below as I would get less than 2Mb with BT, I would not change to infinity either as I dislike the company.

Re: why did u choose Virgin Media?

I was renting a flat and i wanted sky sports for the newly formed premier league that was launching, my landlord wouldn't let me have a sky dish, luckily the area had JUST been cabled and i've been with them ever since, right through the launch of dial-up, to being on 256mb broadband right up to now where i find that as soon as sky get fibre optic in my area i'll have out grown Virgin Media.. not having sports 3 & 4 in HD and Disney cinemagic HD really does P me off and it is that simple.

Re: why did u choose Virgin Media?

I didn't.I chose Nynex.Who were taken over by C&W, who in turn were taken over by NTL, who then negotiated to use the Virgin Media name to rebrand themselves.

Re: why did u choose Virgin Media?

I chose Nynex because I hated BT telephone service..The one time I really needed a phone I had to go over the road in a thunderstorm and use their perfectly serviceable cable phone..I got to the labour ward in time.
