TV Link Eye not working??

Hi all..
I have a TV link for sky which sends singal upstairs to my TV allowing me to change the channels on sky.

Its worked fine for 3 years, my mother was cleaning by the wires the other day and now it wont work. I think the 'eye' device has broken, it was dodgy before because you had to twist it loads of times before getting the red light on.

Any way to know for sure it is the eye before going to Argos and buying one for £16? I need one tomrrow, my favourite team are on TV and don't want to miss them..

Also the arial cable I put direct in the TV and its all fuzzy unwatchable.

Please help.
