Could the update/reboot mean that everything will take 24 hours or so to fully load up again, like after the first install?

My TiVo was slow first thing but it's fine now.

Mine just got stuck; pressed "Home" when I got in and just got the red background the Virgin logo and the red doughnut spinning around. Left it for 10 mins and nothing happened and then I did the UI reset trick (TD TU Play Play) and then that brought it back to life.

That didn't even work for me, I had to PO, W, PI
(Plug out, Wait, Plug in).

My "Media Access Key" is now available after this firmware update. Apparently, I can access recordings from my home network. It says to check virginmedia.com for more info, so just trawling it now.

I hope you're not expecting to find anything then.

What does the Media access key do exactly.

Correct, and I can't. Just hooked up my Tivo box to my LAN via the ethernet socket in the back and rebooted. Trying to see if it gets an IP address.

Tink it's something to do with TiVo accounts in the US. If you create a TiVo account in US, you link you box to it, and I think that key is ... the key.
Also, some Apple iOS apps that support TiVo suggest they need this key to work, but not for UK customers :-(

What's the UI trick, first I've heard of that one? Sounds useful as I had to reboot for this very issue earlier.

Well, all this explains why I experienced some bizarre behaviour earlier on today. At least they are working on improvements.

It's supposed to be "Press 0 while on the HOME screen" but I can't get it to work anymore The theoiy is that it resets the UI.
