I have a job interview tomorrow with virgin media for a cable guy

Got back from my assessment day earlier and it was fun but nerve racking. I have managed to get through and now have a final interview on Monday. I am just eager to work out what I will need to do to prepare.

I guess it is just a standard interview?

I'm pretty sure they have this assessment days running all year, with more people leaving the company than being taken on you dont have to be a genius to work it out whats going on here, the company is Shocking, but if your happy working 12 hour days, 6 days a week with no break then carry on lol

The honest head up I can give you, is dont bother turning up for the interview mate, the company is shocking and work you into the ground, 6 days a week 10-12 hour days for price work at 7 to 8 £ per install, goto college and become a spark mate !

That's not great advice I left being a spark to do this. Building games dead no money to be made, thousands of experienced tradesmen on the dole just now. I wouldn't advise anyone to learn a trade in these tough times. Oh and it's only 12 hour days 4 days a week Without a break lol .

4 days a week 12hr days, thats ok, I guess thats working for Virgin themselves ?

My interview was to be a sub contractor for Kellys, which was the 6 day a week, 12 hrs per day LOL

Yea that's working as an in house tech. No pricework, your paid a salary. Personally I wouldn't work for a subcontractor either unless was really desperate. Although I hear they make not bad money. But as stated previously the hours are far too long, no time for lunch, not the best is it??

I have just had my phone interview and i feel it went really well and I might need to start planning for the assessment day.

Passed my phone interview!! and I am attending an interview in leeds on monday which lasts an hour.
Will there be another assessment day to go to if I am successful this time?

Hi all, im new to the forum but this thread has been a great help in my application to VM as a field technician, thanks to all that have posted.

I have had my first and second telephone interviews. Not sure what happens next as the lady on the phone doing my second interview said i will be contacted within seven days as to the outcome of the phone conversation. Is this normal??

I have been a sparky now for over 12 years and wanted a career change, will anything in the assessment day (if i make it) be a problem for me?
