No its called keeping your machine clear of junk and regular runs of your malware tools, I just ran superantispyware and malwarebytes and mine is now at similar levels.
I presume you keep yours clean as well.

My E6600 Quaddie is far from low end. Anything below Core2 Duo is low end. IMO, that is.

lol, Low end to you but not many users need quad core as not much software is optimised for quad core. My 2 kids both have quite low spec'd laptops that cost under £700 each and they are fine.
My eldest runs CAD and similar software and the youngest never struggles to run applications she needs.
Quad core isn't needed for another 12 months.
Saying that my Gaming rig is quad core but that cost me £4400 in December 2011. An its specs are beyond your wildest dreams tiger lol. LMAO of at computer snobbery, its soooo 1991////// I GOT A INTEL PENTIUM RUNNING AT 100Mhz lol....

You do have some opinions.
I 've had the Quaddie since 2008 and I've needed it for a couple of statistical applications.

I think you'll find in 2008 your statistical applications were not optimised for quad core and may of run slower than they would of on a fast duo.
Infact in 2008 a quad core was as productive as Sony's "Cell" processor, Too expensive to optimise for.

Absolute rubbish.
What do you know about my applications? Zilch.
I bought the Quaddie for resolving complex fault tree and reliability block diagram calculations which ran twice as fast as the Core2 Duo.

With your attitude - absolutely no problem.

Re: Speed test sites and why you shouldnt take them for granted
why would the application need to be optimised? the application doesnt do any physical processing?

So in your world there is no benefit to running software/applications that are optimised for quad core on a quad core processor.....Ohhh................................ .............................Dear.
Dual core is ok you get good returns without optimised software/apps..But quad core you get less for the available cpu power. Dual core can in some instances out perform a quad core in none optimised software..ITS JUST A FACT(Although its now 2012 so this is less likely to be the case)
Now FOLDING would benefit from a quad

Re: Speed test sites and why you shouldnt take them for granted
quad helps alot if multi tasking, eg. 4 single core apps can get a full core each. Obviously also helps on multi threaded apps which are still not very common now days.
On my laptop a runaway process hogging cpu can cause it to almost stop responding as it only has 1 core, on this rig a quad core that wouldnt happen as I would still have 3 idle cores to keep the machine responsive. I often get firefox going crazy and hogging a core taking my cpu usage to 25%.
On the i5 and i7 cpus intel finally respected most apps still are not optimised for multi core so if someone runs an app that only uses one or even 2 cores then turbo mode will overclock the cpu to give extra power for 1/2 threaded apps. So the cpu is hybrid and can switch between optimised for one core of multi cores.

Agreed.
Plenty of things in '08 were easily capable of maxing out a quad core.

You took me on when I said I'd used a Quaddie since 2008, telling me that my application would likely run faster on a Dual Core. You said I'd find that my application wasn't optimised for quad core processing.
Apart from you knowing nothing about my applications, yet spouting off as if you knew everything, I'd like to ask you to tell me what you think "optimised for quad core" means? And how does it affect Speed tests?
Are you saying that such programs are not optimised at the same time for Core2-Duo? Or not optimised also for 6 cores?
Are you also saying that Quad core PCs from 2008 might run Speed Tests slower than a Core2-Duo or a Dual-Core?
One of the things I noticed was that I could be running full tilt speed tests on the Quaddie whilst it was doing non multi-core calculations.
You also said that Quad Core isn't needed for another 12 months. Are you saying that I never needed Quad Core since 2008?
