Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
I got all excited this morning after seeing a 10 minute drop-out on the TBB monitor just before 8am.. Thought it might be the upgrade..but alas it wasn't

Optimal levels for downstream power are around -3 to +7 i believe, so your 45 is way out of spec.

The 45 will be the SNR, not power levels.

My 47 was my power level on the 5th downstream channel until a reboot.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
If you see my post 1505 you can see my power levels are back to normal now.
This 47 i am talking about was literally right after the 5th channel was added, and a reboot cured it, the internet worked normally though when it was 47.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
Prior to yesterday I had 4 DS channels. Now I have 4, 6 or 7 after reboot, upload speed has dropped to 3Mb from 10 and the data transfer LED is flashing all the time even when no data is flowing.
100Mb Engineer booked for tomorrow.

Can you only check if additional channels have been added if you have a Hub?
Sorry for the noob question.

Only the superhub can use 8 downstream channels. The other modems are 4 channels only so you can't tell.

The hub is not 4 channels only.

No, it was power on the 5th channel. I notice it quite a lot as it sticks out on the table like a sore thumb.
All seems to be OK at the moment though, but there were never any browsing issues, or otherwise.
