When Router (*Be Box) Is 54Mbps & USB Wireless Adaptor Is 108Mbps Would Speed Vary? As Someone Told Me When There Are Diffrent He Got 50% Of His Speed, His Either Talking Rubbish Or Telling The Thruth, Just Want To Know Thanks!
As zingle has already mentioned, it'll run at the lower spec speed. The other thing to take into account is the effective bandwidth you get against the quoted bandwidth on the product - you'll never get 54Mbps throughput from a 54Mbps wireless device.
I believe that somewhere around half of the effective throughput is lost to overheads - and that's after the reduction in throughput caused by interference.
When I connect direct to my router, I get download speeds of 14Mbps.
From my wireless connection at 54Mbps, I get 6Mbps.
Shows you what a difference wireless makes!
Im Trying To Connect To The Net Via Wireless My Router Is The *Be Box And I Have The Netgear USB Adaptor... I Can Find My Router In My List, But When I Try Connecting It Asks For A Key Code, Ive Foned Up Found Out What That Is, And Got That Sorted, So Enterd My Encryption Code And Its Not Letting Me Connect
do you know the admin details to get into the be* box? you could try turning the wireless security off and then try to connect. Then enable security and set wpa password that you remember. Connect wirelessly and add this new password
if you do not know your password hit start run and type cmd
in box type ipconfig /all
hit enter
use the default gateway as ip and put that into a web browser nothing else just the number 192.168.***.*** user name will be any of these blank(as in nothing) user root admin and the password will be admin root password it could be any combo of these. This will get you into router admin
