True, usually used by individuals who have never built a rocket!
I hate "it's easier than falling out of a tree" - irritating.

Or just people who can't think for themselves.

Or people who say 'I always say'. I usually respond to them by saying: 'Well, you're a bloody boring person to talk to then'.

Those people who moan when they have very little to complain about. Thank God for your blessings.

My Niece used to hate him, but she's turned to the darkside

You do what any other doting Uncle would do.... but nothing says you can't wear a false mustache and dark glasses.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 7
Buying shoes..When you are a size 5 in length and a size 7 in width..when you have an upturned big toe...an extra high instep and all heels are either stilettos or totally flat I end up depressed, incandescent with rage and ready to punch out the world.
All I want is a plain grey court shoe with an EEEE width fitting and a nice thick 3 inch heel.
Sounds simple. Well it's not.I've the aching feet to match my depression.
Then anything I look for online with the EEEE fitting is ugly,is old fashioned, not grey and is classed as orthopaedic..
Shoe designers and clothes designers are useless.I'm left wondering how many young women are wearing shoes that are ruining their feet because they cannot find the right width shoes..When I consider how much choice there was for my kids with extra widths when they were under 12 I am enraged that this doesn't carry through into adulthood.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 7
Two moans:
First, people who put a subject on an email that bears no relation to the content. I deal with a *lot* of email at work, most of which has little or nothing to do with me. As such, it helps if the emails have sensible subjects, as not only can I prioritise my emails, but I can use Outlook's "Group" feature to group emails on the same subject.
Unfortunately, I also get a lot of emails where either someone has just replied to a random email I sent and not bothered to changed the subject, they've just put a space for the subject, or they've put the subject "From the desk of <name>" where <name> is their name. I monitor two accounts. One is a generic inquiries account, and one is my personal account, which as part of my job is on quite a few mailing lists. So, I sometimes get 100s of emails a day.
Second: Cyclists.
Now, I have no problem with Cyclists as such, as long as they follow the highway code and various road traffic laws. Sadly, a lot don't.
They've temporarily pedestrianised a lot of roads in Greenwich as a result of the Olympics. Unfortunately, most of the cyclists I have seen when on these roads haven't done the sensible thing and dismounted their bikes, rather they seem to prefer to just ride into the crowds (most of whom have little or no idea where they are going so may be a little unpredictable), ignoring any traffic lights (which *are* still active) and dismounting if they see a police officer, army officer or Olympic guide (so they know they are in the wrong).
I was even nearly hit this morning by a woman who sped past me when I was in the middle of a traffic island in the middle of the road (an area she shouldn't have been cycling in anyway, regardless of whether the rest of the road was pedestrianised or not).
As I say, I have no problem with cyclists as such, but they, as with all road users, need to remember that they are bound by the highway code, and various laws. They also need to remember that they aren't the only road users, and they need to show courtesy to road users of all kinds. But, that reminder applies to *all* road users, whether they have feet or wheels.
