it doesn't say anything about an extra £12 maybe £5 would be ok

I found this comment over on DigitalSpy quite interesting:

BoxNation does seem squeezed now between Sky and the PSBs (ITV/Channel 5).

Maybe BT are thinking about taking it on??
Is it true that before a boxing match last Saturday night, the Channel 5 Continuity Announcer warned viewers that the match may contain violence

Quite probably. I sometimes think we are all getting so reactive to small pieces of information (like Twitter and snippets of information off the web generally) and nannying that before much longer we won't be able to think for ourselves at all!
To wit, the car that recently drove into the sand, because that's the way the Satnav said to go.
The lift I use to get into work sets me up for the day. 'Door opening. Door closing'. The doors to the loo have a notice saying 'Beware of opening door'!
Pathetic.

I know what you mean, i've seen signs above sinks that say "caution, hot tap may contain hot water"!
I guess lifts say things verbally to help the sight impaired.

People blaming the satnav for their lack of commonsense is funny. But some of the other signs do make sense; with an ageing population and 850,000 people suffering from dementia I don't think these signs won't go away. Not everyone has the same abilities as we currently do.

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
I could see Boxnation charging non-subscribers a one-off fee for the fight, subscribers wouldn't need to pay any extra.
Maybe that's what the rumour is and it'd be acceptable for everybody, i would have thought.

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
The Daily Mail have reported it's now a £12 million shoot out between SKY and Boxnation for Mayweather Vs Pacman.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/box...-Pacquiao.html
Interestingly they suggest the final say on who will broadcast the fight in the UK goes to Mayweather!
The last time SKY broadcast a Mayweather fight was against Mosley back in 2010. Boxnation have shown Mayweathers last 5 fights. Could be interesting.

Boxing Channel Media Ltd's (BoxNation being the brand) annual turnover is only about £5m so I doubt it can realistically splash out £12m on this match on its own. Indeed, Boxing Channel Media Ltd does not even need to appoint auditors as it is a small company.
So, I can only see it being on Sky despite BoxNation showing Mayweather's last five fights.

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/box...cquiao-UK.html
"The bidding war for the British television rights for the Fight of the Century is coming to its climax. Sky Sports have been considered favourites to screen Floyd Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao since their $300 million purse deal was struck for May 2 in Las Vegas. They appeared to have moved firmly into pole position when given access to Mayweather’s gym in Las Vegas prior to joining the battery of cameras at the official red carpet launch of the promotion in Los Angeles."
"However, it is understood that Frank Warren has been in urgent discussions with Mayweather’s own promotion company and Pacquiao’s Top Rank promoters overnight on Wednesday. Warren has built a strong relationship with the Americans while screening a steady flow of major fights in the US on his dedicated BoxNation channel, including Mayweather and Pacquiao bouts."
"Sky are having to consider pushing their pay-per-view charge above their notional £20 barrier. Warren is believed to be offering an innovative package for his monthly subscription network which could raise the ante higher."

Mayweather v Pacquiao
Whilst BoxNation is still in the bidding process, the Daily Telegraph states that it is up against both Sky and BT Sport. The successful bidder will be announced sometime this week with Sky the favourites. It is believed that the cost of buying the rights may be around £10m-£12m and if on Sky, would likely break all PPV records here. A Sky deal would be a flat fee and a share of the PPV revenue.

You might be able to throw Spike TV into the mix if the UK version follow their American counterparts when it starts in the UK on approx 10 April:
