Meh. Too early to tell isn't it? I didn't mind Cameron either though.

I've actually not been taking any notice with it all lately. I've been really busy and on holiday. the last thing I remember of her is the day she took over Nobby's job.

Re: [Updated] Theresa May is new UK PM

Anyone got an opinion on how she's doing. I think she needs to be a bit more vocal, the keep quiet and wait for others to hang themselves was a perfect strategy when she was prime minister non elect but now she has the top job I'd actually like to hear from her a bit more, other than that she has done okay imo, certainly much better than any of the others would've done

Hopefully her lack of vocal presence means she is busy in the background doing her job ,unlike her predecessors who would jump on tv and hold press conferences at any opportunity for no particular reason.

Its too early to give a opinion based on she has only been there for a short while so l will reserve judgement until further down the road.

Was promising initially but has disappointed since. Grammar schools, her poor performance in PMQs this week, showing an inability to think on her feet when she doesn't have pre-prepared soundbites.

She shows a disturbing contempt for evidence-based policies already, and seems set on ensuring we are very clear the more 'liberal' conservatism from Dave is done.

The Conservatives' poll numbers are intensely flattered by the utter shambles that is the Labour party. Thankfully one small silver lining is that it opens up the field a bit for the Liberal Democrats to progress.

Re: [Updated] Theresa May is new UK PM

I find her silence more professionalism than anything else. As pointed out jumping on the tele at every chance for no reason is just retarded. More to the point it is more professional to step back instead of being forced to do things like for example Brexit. Instead of whoring she kept quiet and in time said it is what it is lets get on with it rather than being pulled into bollocks debates that her predecessors would have jumped at.

The Liberal Democrats are making massive gains in council by-elections. Not representative I know but yesterday they won one on a 28% swing. Can't seem them doing so in Parliamentary elections though. Liberalism is dying.

I think it's too early to judge May. She does seem to be picking fights she doesn't need to though and I don't know why. I can't see the upside for her, politically, by starting with grammar schools unless she is trying to get the side of the Tory party who disliked Cameron onside before shafting them on Brexit terms. By doing this she has already annoyed the Cameron-wing of the Tory party and Osborne was on the radio today showing his discontent.

We can give her a pass on PMQs though. It's only her third and she has no experience on the other end of the dispatch box unlike Cameron or Blair. Also I don't think people care that much.

Re: [Updated] Theresa May is new UK PM

As far as I'm concerned they should just axe PMQ complete farce and waste of time.

I'm also unclear why as a nation we keep insisting on self flagellation and keep bringing up ancient history as inquests.

Hillsborough
Bloody sunday
Miners Strike

Sometimes it's healthier once a decent interval has passed to just let things go.

Not if you're one of the ones affected. Finding out what happened is important. If we let things go then there would be no official recognition, and less public understanding, that those killed in Londonderry/Derry did nothing wrong and those Liverpool fans in Sheffield did nothing wrong.

Yea and the N I terrorists all got a free get out of jail card, whilst the soldiers face prison - fair huh?
And the miners were so squeaky clean...

As I said, sometimes it's better to draw a line under it and move on.

No soldiers from Bloody Sunday are in prison yet nor are they likely to be. Also terrorists weren't all given a free pass.

The inquiry didn't convict anyone, it established the truth of what happened.

It also doesn't require much wisdom to declare we should move on when you're not the victim. That's up to them, not us.
