You sound very gloomy these days, Den. You were such an optimist until recently...

l will always be optimistic OB but as one develops more grey hairs by the day one also becomes more of a realist as well.

It seems another big ISP in the US has had there say now , AT&T reject Reed Hastings comments that the ISP's should foot the bill.

Related to this point, is it my imagination or has the option to play a film from the start disappeared?! I'm sure it used to be right under the "Resume playing". I had to rewind a film to get it back to the start this morning. It was painfully slow and reminded me of the good old VHS days!

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services

I have read that Netflix sometimes offer free programmes, how does this work if it is a subscription service?

First I've heard of it. Unless you mean the free one month trial?

It should be to the right of "Resume playing". Is it not?

I see they're massive fans of the Guardian

Personally I think it's good that someone has been challenging the way 'sales' of Youview boxes has been dominated by BT and Talk Talk. Maybe these questions and the rumoured enhanced Freeview service has made Youview do something about it?

To be fair YouView can only add other content with the addition of support for unicast which they've been open about and discussed many times on their forum.

I know you are quite knowledgeable on Youview, so do you know if there was a reason why Unicast wasn't there from the Get-Go?

Youview was so long in development, I would have thought they would have got it right from release.

Honestly not sure , the last I read on unicast was the following. I'm sure someone more technical than myself understands it.

We don't support one of the key enabling technologies (HTTP chunked streaming) yet but it is on our roadmap. The BBC are using this for their iPlayer live re-start feature.

Certainly appears YouView will see more content options soon.

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services

Been told that the now partly ITV owned Cirkus may be coming to VM if talks prove fruitful to both parties.

It shows Nordic and classic British programming.

Been getting UI-113 On Netflix, is this a problem with VM or Netflix. I can watch it on Laptop just not through tivo.
