Actually I did come across one valid reason for using reminders posted on the VM fotum.

Someone has an elderly relative who wouldn't understand how to go into my shows to view the recording from there. So, when they go out for the evening, they set up channel switch reminders for all this persons evening viewing. Reminders do have a very valid use in that instance.

But all the other reasons for using reminders rather than recording that other people bring out, really don't hold water to me.

However, VM are adding them so everyone will be happy.

just thought I'd stir the pot!
l will give you a good sized spoon just the right size for a stirrer.

Discussion of different viewpoints is encouraged, deliberate flaming isn't - let's not get silly, shall we?

Think the phrase was something like "looking into whether reminders can be integrated" - so might not appear & with Tivo recording on all 3 tuners i can see some very serious priority issues - just hope reminders dont adversely affect the way it works/records now

Not sure if that was directed at me, but parts of my post were meant in a humourous way, not flaming.

Good point. I hope adding reminders doesn't mean going back to V+ functionality, i.e., 2 recordable tuners and one reserved for live TV. That would be like going back to the dark ages!

It's not Tivo's fault that a PVR is too complicated for some older people

Or it could be that some people use TV and TIVO in a different way
