Virgin's usenet missing group ?

Hey folks,

Quick question. Anyone else finding that a.b.teevee is missing from virgin's usenet server ? Seemed to be working a few hours ago now grabbit is reporting that it does not exist on the server.

Re: Virgin's usenet missing group ?

Looks like another glitch as a.b.teevee is offline again. Hopefully all groups will be back again in a few hours.

Re: Virgin's usenet missing group ?

here's to hoping! it has coincided with my free upgraded speed today. VM newsgroups make the price increases palatable.

Re: Virgin's usenet missing group ?

Chances are that the issue lays with the provider Highwinds. They are quite famed for well being crap i guess is the polite way to say it. Give it a day or so, i'm sure it will be back to normal soon.

There is a thread on Digital spy http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2121714 no answers from VM as of yet.

Also a new thread at VM https://community.virginmedia.com/t5...s/td-p/2987910

Re: Virgin's usenet missing group ?

Yep having the same issue here. Also confirmed that the groups do seem to exist on another highwinds provider I have access to...

Re: Virgin's usenet missing group ?

[17:56:59] ERROR Server:VM Server Reports bogus MaxSpool > MaxGroup Numbers :0:0 - alt.binaries.teevee

More than likely a corruption on the storage disk, they'll eventually sync in again. If it was removed then it would error out with "Group not found"

Not really something in VM's control and not really something that they'd bother with fixing especially as 99.9999% of the content is copyrighted

I'm still getting "411 - No Such Group" for a.b.teevee - is this group working for anyone else?
