EPG inaccurate
Has anyone else been plagued by incorrect info and finding themselves recording or watching a programme that is not as advertised? It's happened too many times lately for it to be a mistake on my part..

Re: EPG inaccurate
Last night I wanted to watch Backstrom from Sunday and found myself watching the last half of Da Vincis' Demons, then Da Vincis' Demons started recording from the start.

Re: EPG inaccurate
This can happen when there are last minute changes, as the V+ and TiVo EPG's aren't dynamic.

Re: EPG inaccurate
Well that can't be blamed on last minute changes.
It's as if VM no longer care about the TV side of the business any more since LG took over.
Slow TiVo, lack of channels and a sloppy approach to the EPG.

I think someone else posted that when LGI took over, the channel additions actually increased. But it has been a pretty quiet 2015, it must be said!
Regarding Tivo, I'm guessing the existing boxes can't be speeded up so that leaves some costly decisions.

I think that the best thing to do would be to scrap the apps.
People primarily get a TiVo to watch & record TV. Since TiVo was launched, there are now many cheap and easy ways to access apps.
I wouldn't bother to specifically buy a TV for the apps as they soon seem to go out of date. Demand 5 has recently stopped working on pre 2015 Samsung TV's (but they hope to restore it soon).
I've created a thread/poll to see what others think:

Re: EPG inaccurate
There are still quite a few who use some of the apps though Richard...

Re: EPG inaccurate
Virgin's EPG has always been terrible when it comes to late changes.

Spiderplant advises that ditching the apps will not improve the speed.
Anyway, many of us prefer having the apps on the Tivo and indeed these and other apps I have access to form about 40% of my viewing currently.
In my view, it's the apps that people are looking for these days. The old ways of watching TV that you seem to be into are fast becoming outmoded, Richard.

Re: EPG inaccurate
Scrapping the apps in itself wouldn't improve speed, but removing the support that the apps require would do (AFAIK).
Many TV's now have apps and there are many cheap ways to alternatively access them these days.

Well, it depends what you mean by 'cheap'! Smart TVs are very cheap compared with just a couple of years ago, but they remain out of reach for a lot of people.
The boxes of the future really ought to be equipped with a good range of apps. This is the future. No need to take a sledgehammer to crack a nut. There are technical ways of improving speed without taking away the apps!

Re: EPG inaccurate
Excuse me but this is a V+ issue not a Tivo one..and I get no apps so it's irrelevant to me..and the EPG is the topic...
I just wondered how many were plagued with the issue before I go ahead and officially complain.
