Asus RT-AC66U question
Im currently running this router for a wireless connection and for a home network.
I have a synology ds215j with 2x3GB WD Reds attached to it, what im finding is if im transferring to or from the NAS it can be slow at times but fine wired.
Is this down to the router or just a channel setting?
If its a router issue maybe unable to with stand whats being thrown at it can someone recommend a new router?
Also im using Asus Merlin firmware the latest version.

You need to define what "slow" is in this context ..

Re: Asus RT-AC66U question
well on wired connection i can hit around 90MB/s up/down to my NAS.
Wirelessly it can drop into the KB/s
At the moment im transferring 14 files which is 14.9GB and im getting between 2-3.4MB/s only.
Im connected to 5Ghz also.

I have a N66U and I have just tested the 5G speeds on my old Macbook Pro and I am getting 120Mbps (15MBps) from speedtest.net and copying a large file via AFP from my NAS. This is from the floor above where the router is sited ..

No confusion: the speedtest is over the 5G wireless network as is the AFP file copy from the NAS.

Re: Asus RT-AC66U question
I have the RT-N66U.
My transfer speed between my WD 2TB NAS and laptop over 5GHZ can also be slow as well.

Fedup of waiting for almost 30GB to transfer at below 1MB/s i bought a new router and now im hitting 14MB/s transfer rates.
