I can't help thinking that there is more to this than meets the eye, and Amazon issued the compatibility story as a cover.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was intransigence on various aspects from all three companies; Google, Apple and Amazon.

I keep coming across this kind of comment and figures of 30%

it was to “protest” the fact that Apple and Google want a cut of all in-app purchases. Amazon doesn’t want to pay Google every time we buy (or rent?) a movie in the Prime app. If Google won’t let them sell things without taking a cut, they won’t sell Google’s “competing” product.
Do Amazon do the same?

Interesting article here on the reasons behind Amazon's ban on Apple TV and Google streaming devices.

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services

Amazon thinks it should be exempt from paying any kind of fee to be avaliable on the Apple and Google stores whilst charging considerable fees to anyone wanting to sell on the Amazon site.

Out of interest, how do Amazon's seller fees compare to ebay?

I once sold something via Amazon, but it was years agi and can't remember the percentage they took.

They have two plans i think the first is the basic plan 75p per item, and the second is pro plan for heavy sellers which is £25p/m.
Then there is a referal fee between 7% - 45% depending on the item aka Amazon device accesories are 45% or 40p whichever is greater full list here http://services.amazon.co.uk/service...e/pricing.html

None of the App stores should be taking their cut of subscription fees, after the initial download of the app, the only cost to the app store is processing the subscription, I don't believe that it costs upto 30% of the subscription fee to process this.

In an ideal world maybe , however in business Apple , Google and Amazon make a lot of money from 3rd party apps/sellers and to be fair there's a lot of app makers who've also made a tidy sum.

I agree 30% is to high but sadly I can't see much change anytime soon in this area.

New apps for fire tv (usa) FXnow, watchabc.
itvplayer(uk)
Amazon have finally started to step things up for firetv tv apps.
It's expected foxnow, cbs, nbc, all4, nowtv will begin rolling out after all boxes have the firmware update which is rolling out now.

Never say never but I'd think there would be a better chance of getting the lotto numbers 3 times in a row.
