BT Infinity - pricing

Interesting pitch, ambitious plans for 2012 ?

BT Retail will start selling up to 40Mbits/sec fibre broadband from £20 per month, the company has announced.
The company will offer two packages to customers: the £20 per month deal will see upload speeds limited to up to 2Mbits/sec and will impose a 20GB monthly download cap. It also attracts a £50 connection charge.
The £25 per month deal abolishes the connection charge and the data cap, and raises the maximum upload speed to a relatively impressive 10Mbits/sec.

re: BT Infinity - pricing

... and bearing in mind that each home with a BT line has a private path to the stree box, ther's no contention on that leg of the ride. The street box MSANs will put out to fibre and as it's a new fibre pull and new street boxes, BT will get the modulation and capacity right.

So, VM will be trembling in its shoddy boots.

Shame my exchange isn't there at the moment but it looks like Leeds is a target area though with a few already hallmarked for the upgrade. Just wonder what their FUP is gonna be though. Should hopefully all be sorted though when my o2 ADSL contract is due for renewal in about 11 months.

That seems far too good to be true, and I'd pay more for that as it's a new connection and a new system entirely.

Can a mod rename the title to BT Infinity or something so it's a continuous thread.

Ive just copied this from the BT site

"Online gaming will be up to 30 per cent faster, giving gamers a real advantage over the competition".

Does it still depend on the distance from the exchange.
