Babylon 5 Cast
I was looking at some stuff on Wikipedia and noticed that Stephen Furst had died in June (He played Vir).
I took a look at the other main stars and was saddened by how many are now gone.
Michael O'Hare - Jeffrey Sinclair
Jerry Doyle - Michael Garibaldi
Richard Biggs - Dr Stephen Franklin
Andreas Katsulas - G'Kar
Stephen Furst - Vir Cotto
Jeff Conaway - Zack Allan

Re: Babylon 5 Cast
A wonderful series and so sad that quite a few have passed away now.

Re: Babylon 5 Cast
Yeah, I think Zack died last yeat, I saw it in the news. Garibaldi died a while ago but I wasn't aware Commander Sinclair has died. I just looked Vir up and I didn't realise he was so old, I thought he was younger than that.
It is sad because one of my dream projects when I win £100+ million on the euro millions is to have a massive B5 reunion and it seems like most of them have gone now.

Re: Babylon 5 Cast
the doctor in the pilot was old at the time so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he is now dead 20 years on.

Re: Babylon 5 Cast
That was Dr Kyle, played by Johnny Sekka, who indeed died in 2006.

Re: Babylon 5 Cast
It was the best scifi series of them all. Perhaps the fact it was cut short contributed to that..I have to say some shows/films and their spin offs have diluted their magic.

Re: Babylon 5 Cast
Yeah, funnily enough I was trying to think how to word this the other day. In the GoT thread Kursk has been winding everyone up and keeps saying that GoT is a soap so he doesn't want to watch it and I have been trying to stop myself from saying it is the best tv series ever. It is amazing on so many levels but even after 20 years B5 is still the best series ever for me on so many levels. I just wish I was old enough at the time to go to a convention and meet them all. I have seen pics where every single one of them attended.
Some of the movies afterwards were a bit hit and miss. In the Beginning was genius and I have watched that a million times. It fits into the story arc perfectly. Third space was good and it was great to see another big battle and from a nostalgia point of view I liked A Call to Arms. Just like we always want more Star Trek, I wanted more B5 and was so looking forward to The Lost Tales in 2007 and pre-ordered it yonks in advance on dvd. The thing which let it down was lack of cast and too much cgi. I know they didn't have budget because they would have had to rebuild the sets etc but that is why I need to win the euro millions.
The best tv series I have got in my dvd collection

Re: Babylon 5 Cast
Yeah, they have some good stuff.
Stargate and Eureka for the last few weeks, as well as Warehouse 13 - and now B5.

Re: Babylon 5 Cast
It is a shame it isn't a freeview channel so the whole country can't enjoy some of the best tv every made. Scrap Coronation Street, Eastenders and all the **** game shows and get everyone to watch SG1, Atlantis and B5. The world would be a better place.

excellent, I hadn't heard of it up and till now so I assumed it wasn't on freeview (I don't know anyone who has got it) . In that case I am very pleased for everyone and hope it has been advertised sufficiently on other channels so people know about it. They are in for a treat. With on the ***** on BBC1, 2, ITV, ITV2, CH4 etc I don't know why after all these years they can't take all the Star Treks, Stargate, BSG, Buffy, Lost, Heroes etc and say every day at 16:00 (for example) we are going to show xxxxx and work our way through the series and when it is finished we'll move onto another series. Those kind of series have surely got to attract a higher % of the population than all the other dross which is on. I was saying this when I was 16 (when there were only 4 channels), surely out of all these channels you can find flipping time for more good stuff instead of Buffy and TNG once a week on BB2. I never understood why The Vampire Diaries was on ITV2. I would get a couple of quality series like that and put them on 1900-2100 on Friday evenings. It would make for a great night in children/teens.
