Where does it say its free?
You need $ky and the $ports Premium Package on top.
So to me that's NOT free.

Not sure who your responding to but you can get the channel on Sky just by having the HD pack which anyone who has respect for their eyeballs probably has.

a friend of mine rang and spoke to sky you have to have the sports pack to get the new f1 channel and if you have the hd pack you get the hd version,Basically same as what it will hopefully be on vm

I think Sky could have smoothed over a bit of the tumult surrounding this if they had simply said, "You know what...we're going to show this on Sky 1"
That would have the audience reach Bernie desires from Sky ("10m homes have Sky") and would placate quite a few F1 fans who refuse to be charged an obvious premium simply to watch their favourite sport.

I've got friends already with Sky+ who say they'll make the change to a HD box with this news , people are worrying about nothing it will end up on VM in some form.

I will miss most of the season as I cancelled all the SKY subs that i had. I will still think that i will now stop watching it all.

It says The dedicated channel will be provided at no extra charge to all Sky TV customers who take both Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 or the HD pack of channels.
The important word being OR.
