Re: SKY F1 HD Channel, Any Chance?
Yeah, the loss of legendary Television Centre was pretty disgusting, to be honest. And that's the tip of the iceberg.

Re: SKY F1 HD Channel, Any Chance?
Snooker will be the next to go in my opinion. ( share with Sky Sports or go completely to Sky Sports )
Quote:
World Snooker have extended their broadcasting agreement with the BBC, ensuring the sport's main events will remain on the terrestrial channel for at least three more years.
The deal sees the BBC continue as host broadcaster of the World Championship, the UK Championship, the Masters and the Welsh Open - the latter on BBC Wales - until the end of the 2013/14 season.

How on Earth does that mean that snooker is next to go? They have signed a deal through to 2014.

I never said it did.
It is just way the BBC is heading with Sports rights.
BBC is only interested Wimbledon , Six Nations rugby and the Olympics going by that guardian article.

Thomson later said the BBC would focus on sports that appealed to the whole of the UK, and highlighted events such as the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and Six Nations rugby, as well as the Olympics.
|
I would not be surprised if snooker went to Sky Sports in 2014.

Again you are adding 2+2 and getting 47. The comment you quoted does not mention snooker in anyway, but you are just making your own assumptions up about what may or may never happen. They just mentioned a couple of sports as examples. That does NOT mean that they are not interested in any other sport.

No it just means they are more interested in making short term deals rather than long term ones. Please stop assuming things from really vague quotes.

Re: SKY F1 HD Channel, Any Chance?
I Do wonder when this Sky Sports F1 channel will be announced as coming to Virgin Media.
February ? March ?
I am confident the HD version will come aswell going by what i have read.
I think the HD version will go to the Sky Premium HD package. Whether there will be also a cheaper option is another matter
They could change Sky Premium HD to also include Sky HD non premium channels without Sky Sports and Sky Movies.
For example XL TV + Sky HD channels pack (Sky Sports F1 HD).
That would make it the cheapast option if you do not want Sky Sports. If that happened.
It will not be in TV XL in a million years.

They will need to show the sports that Mike Bushell covers at the end of the sport bulletins on the BBC

Erm here,
Snooker will be the next to go in my opinion.
The world championships are on the BBC to at least 2014.
Now what Snooker has to do with the F1 channel I don't know, time to get back on topic me thinks.
