Digital Set top box

Hi all.

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I currently have an old Pace set top box connected to a satellite dish on the old Astra 19, my wife uses this to watch mainly the German channels. This month Germany are going digital and a would like to know which set top box I can buy to be able to continue to watch the channels.

I had to have a new dish and LNB put up a couple of months ago after the gales we had in our area, so the LNB is one of the latest models.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Digital Set top box

Keep a eye on Lidl and Aldi as they sell very good, low cost, digital satellite systems from time to time.

Re: Digital Set top box

Thanks, I will.

My granddaughter is the manager at the Lidl in our area. We don't have an Aldi yet, although they were granted planning permission last January.

Re: Digital Set top box

I got a full set with dish, decoder, cable, et al for sub £40, and my neighbour bought a similar setup for caravans (all comes in a handy plastic box) that works perfectly as a home setup.

Re: Digital Set top box

I've seen these from time to time in Aldi but not recently - they don't seem to be stocking much of the pc/audio/video tecchie stuff anymore. I often wondered if they were any good, but we've never had any issues with any of the electrical stuff we've bought from Aldi and most has a 3 year warranty.

Re: Digital Set top box

I will have a word with my granddaughter to see if they could be having the system soon. I don't want to have to wait too long as we won't be able to get the channels in a day or to. Watched the F1 practice on RTL this lunchtime.
