You'll need a modulator as the VM boxes have no RF output., this connects via a SCART lead to the VM box. Even when the VM box is on an HD channel the SCART outputs an SD signal. I have a VHD box but I think this also apples to the TIVO

I have a setup where the main Sony TV is connected by HDMI, the SCART feeds my Sony DVD/HDD recorder, this feeds SCART to the modulator even in standby. The DVD feeds component to the TV for progressive DVD play and feeds 576i to the modulator concurrently.

HTH and welcome to the forum.

Re: coax cable

Yes the tivo feeds the scart and HDMI outputs simultaneously. I run coax cable to three other rooms via a modulator from the tivo scart output and a signal distributor.
